Katsina Govt. spends N345m to upgrade 3 primary schools

Katsina- As part of effort to provide conducing learning environment, Katsina State Government on Thursday said it had spent N345 million to upgrade three primary schools in the state.

The Director of Works in the state Ministry of Works, Idris Lawal, disclosed this when he conducted members of the Nigeria Guild of Editors (NGE) round some state government projects in Katsina.

He said the schools were upgraded to storey building to provide additional classes.

According to him the schools are: Umaru Dallaje, Katsina, Tsiga Central Primary School and Muduru Primary School, Daura.

He said the state government had also upgraded two other schools: Dan Marina Primary School in Katsina and Matawalle Amadu Primary School, Daura.

Lawal also said that three family support nursery/primary/secondary schools were established in Katsina, Funtua and Daura to improve the standard of education in the state.

The director further said that N225 million was spent in the provision of standard science laboratories, e-library, computer centre and other facilities at Family Support Primary/Secondary School, Katsina.

He said N116 million was earmarked for similar project in Family Support Primary schools in Daura and Funtua

Lawal said that 1,500 primary schools in parts of the state had been rehabilitated, adding that fully furnished 250 classrooms were constructed in the last two years to cater for 50 pupils per class.
