China Radio lauds Hausa Radio, eyes Yoruba, Igbo programmes

The China Radio International (CRI) on Thursday said that its Hausa Radio programmes were currently contributing to the growing relations between China and Nigeria.

The CRI’s Deputy Director (Hausa Radio Service), Mrs Kande Gao, made the remark while receiving a Delegation of visiting Nigerian Journalists in Beijing.

According to her, about 3, 000 Nigerians were currently benefiting from the Hausa service programmes and products.

Gao who disclosed that a large number of Nigerians keenly
follow and benefit from the Hausa service programmes through its Facebook page, noted that, there could also be the possibility of CRI evolving other Radio Programmes and products in Yoruba and Ibo languages in future.

The deputy director said that such programmes were news articles, features and special topics on China that would be of interest to Nigerians, Africans and people across the world.

China Radio International is a state-owned international radio broadcaster of the People’s Republic of China. It is currently headquartered in Babaoshan area of Beijing’s Shijingshan District.

It was founded on December 3, 1941, as Radio Peking.
