‎FCTA, newly elected chairmen to develop Area Councils

The FCT Administration said on Monday it would work very closely with all the newly elected Area Councils’ chairmen and councillors in order to bring rapid development to the Area Councils in the territory.

The All Progressives Congress won five area councils of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Bwari, Kuje, Kwali and Abaji ‎while APGA won Gwagwalada area council in the recently conducted elections in the area councils by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

‎The FCT Minister, Malam Muahammad Musa Bello, who spoke at a meeting with FCT Press Corps led by its Chairman, Ikharo Attah‎, said the Administration would work with all the chairmen irrespective of the parties they belong to.

‎The minister, who congratulated all the FCT Area Councils’ Chairmen and Councillors, ‎assured that the government of President Muhammadu Buhari would build on change mantra.

He stated that the president was committed to entrenching good governance at the grassroots level.

“We will interface with all the elected officials at the local levelto bring development to the grassroots where majority of the people reside,” he stressed.

The Minister expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the election adjudged to be free and fair.

The Chairman, FCT Press Corps, Ikharo Attah commended the Minister for the exemplary way he managed the recent FCT Area Council’s election that was devoid of any skirmishes.

He charged other states of the federation to emulate the peaceful conduct exhibited by the residents before, during and after the FCT area councils elections
