Covid-19: RCCG Halts Parishes Above 50 Worshippers in Lagos and Ogun.
OMOTAYO ARAOYE
The Redeemed Christian Church of God on Wednesday asked its parishes of more than fifty members to put on hold their gathering and services.
The Church noted that it was in accordance to the instruction given by the Lagos state government and Ogun state government, placing a ban on all religious meetings and gatherings of more than fifty Worshippers in order to guide against the further spread of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a statement by the Assistant General Overseer, Pastor Odesola to all Regional and provincial pastors of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, parishes that have an average attendance of fifty members or less can hold their services without any alteration or changes.
He added that parishes that have an average attendance above fifty and the ones capable of running more than one service should make use of their house fellowships centers respectively so far the gathering is lesser than fifty.
Odesola urged all fellowship centers to always connect to Dove Television given them the opportunity to join the live broadcast from the RCCG General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, in this period of time.
He stated that this arrangement would continue for some weeks until the church received another directive from the government.
He hereby urged the members not to panic in this ongoing Coronavirus Crisis because of God’s promise of victory for the church earlier this year and also assures the members of the continued prayers of the General Overseer to all members.
