Promasidor has restated its commitment to support the federal government’s policy to boost local content in the country.
The company stated that it is intensifying its efforts to look inwards to source raw materials locally for the production of its entire products to contribute to the growth and development of Nigeria’s gross domestic product while also earning foreign exchange for the country.
The Managing Director of the company, Anders Einarsson, stated this at the product launch of its new SunVita Choco Crunch into the cereal market, stating that the move was a way to show that the company is keying into and supporting the federal government’s initiative for local content to grow the economy.
He explained that the new product, SunVita Choco Crunch, was in commemoration of World Cereal Day and expected to make an instant impact in the lives of Nigerians.
Einarsson, described the cereal variant as a “proudly Nigeria healthy family cereal,” made from locally sourced maize, soya and premium quality cocoa powder.
The Promasidor helmsman noted that the company has been supporting the government’s initiative for local content to grow the economy, adding that its Onga brand has soya and cassava flour which is locally sourced, likewise, the new SunVita Choco Crunch has maize and soya.
He stated that “SunVita Choco Crunch is a proudly Nigeria healthy family cereal made from locally sourced maize, soya and premium quality Cocoa powder. It contains a branded ingredient known as NUTRI-V, a blend of seven power-packed micro-nutrients (vitamins and minerals-vitamin A, B6, B9, C, Zinc, Calcium, Iron) necessary for a healthy body and brain development.
“At Promasidor, we support the government’s initiative for local content. Our Onga brand has soya and cassava flour which are sourced from Nigeria. Likewise, this new SunVita Choco Crunch has maize and soya which are sourced from Nigeria. “We believe in growing the economy of Nigeria, as such, we will continue to support every initiative of the Nigeria government regarding local content.”
Speaking further on the new product, the Promasidor boss added that the product is made for the entire family, especially those “who desire a convenient, great-tasting, nutritious breakfast option both within and outside the home, including young and adults, and comes in 40g sachet and 500g block bottom pouch with re-sealable zip-lock and allows the content to be kept fresh even after opening.”
However, Einarsson promised other major landmark products offering from the company this year, stating “We have a lot coming and we shall continue to create and innovate for the teeming Nigerian consumers. We are in this business for a long haul and we surely know our onions. Continuing, he added, “Consumers should watch out for a big launch coming this year in the beverage segment. We believe this new beverage brand has all it takes to compete with the current competitions in the market and succeed.
