Equities’ Value Shrink N198m On BUACement, DANGCement Dip
Heavy declines driven by Buacement and Dangcement, on Tuesday reversed the bullish market trend, slashing N198m form equities market capitalisation.
Capitalization of listed equities which opened the day at N12, 967,865,182,215.33 trillion, closed Tuesday at N12, 769,811,217,754.13 trillion, reflecting N198m decline.
In the last trading session of June 2020, a total volume of 280.66 million shares worth N3.13 billion was transacted by investors in 4,464 deals. Compared with data of the previous session, deals increased by 13.30 per cent, volume rose by 76.83 per cent while value of transacted stocks also increased by 91.89 per cent.
The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) All-Share- Index (ASI) declined by -1.53 per cent, to end the day at 24,479.16 pts. Also, the equities market capitalization dropped by same margin of 1.53 per cent, closing the month of June at N12.76 trillion
BUACEMENT [BLS] led the losers on the last trading session in June with N4.30 or 10.00 per cent dip, closing trade at N38.70 per share, followed by DANGCEM which dipped by N1.00 or 0.78 per cent, ending the month at N127.00 per share, while WAPCO, the third-highest loser depreciated in share value by N0.80 or 7.41 per cent, ending at N10.00 per share.
Cadbury closed the day as the fourth on the losers chart, following decline by N0.75 or 10.00 per cent, closing at N6.75 per share, while BERGER closed the top five losers chart at N6.75 per share, having dropped by N0.70 or 9.40 per cent.
FBNH closed the day as the top active stock with 68,210,769 million shares worth N365, 019,350.40 million and transacted by investors in 273 deals. NB followed with turnover of 22,520,497 million shares , worth N805,421,493.65 million , transacted in 99 deals, while JAPAULOIL the third most active stock polled 17,828,200 million shares , worth N3,824,586.13 million in 71 deals.
ABBEYBDS closed as the fourth on the day’s top activity chart with 14,000,000 million shares worth N14,700,000.00 million recorded in one deal, while FCMB closed the day’s top five most activity chart with 10,216,098 million shares worth N19,187,786.71 million in 77 deals.
INTERLINK led the companies that posted lest volumes with 1 share valued N2.91 recorded in 1 deal. Followed by MRS which recorded 12 shares valued N149.40 and posted in 1 deal, while SKYAVN, third on the list posted 20 shares worth N64.40, recorded in 1 deal.
THOMASWY [RST] closed as the fourth least traded stock with 82 shares, worth N28.70 and exchanged in 1 deal, while ENAMELWA closed the top five least transacted stocks with 1,180 shares worth N23, 482.00 and recorded in 1 deal.
OKOMUOIL with N 7.00 or 9.94 per cent gain emerged the best gainer on the last trading session in June as it closed the day at N77.40 per share. BN followed with N1.10 or 3.14 per cent, to end the day at N36.10 per share, while VITA FOAM, third on the top gainers chart appreciated by N0.29 or 5.47 per cent, to end the day at N0.29 per share.
NEMETH closed as the fourth on the gainers chart with N 0.15 or 10.00 per cent growth, to close the day at N1.65 per share, while LAW UNION closed the top five gainers chart on Tuesday at N1.03 per share, following appreciation by N0.06 or 6.19 per cent.
