Two Nigerians Join Global Portfolio Management Body
Two members of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Nigerian Chapter, have joined the elite global group of certified Portfolio Management Professionals (PfMP).
The new additions, Taopheek Babayeju and Chigozie Ndekile, have increased the number of PfMP certification holders in Nigeria to eight
There are currently about 800 holders of the PfMP certification worldwide.
The President of Project Management Institute, Nigeria Chapter, Lambert Ofoegbu, announced the remarkable achievement in Lagos.
He encouraged more organisations and individuals to advance their project management maturity to programme and portfolio levels through various PMI certifications.
Ofoegbu said, “The Portfolio Management Professional signifies advanced competency in the coordinated management of one or more portfolios to achieve strategic objectives.
“The certification is the highest ranked project management certification by the Project Management Institute.”
The PMI president also noted that portfolio management is the most effective way to implement strategic initiatives by bridging the gap between strategy and implementation.
“Portfolio managers align projects, programmes and operations with strategic objectives, investing resources in the right work to deliver the expected value.
“Organizations with mature project portfolio management practices complete 35 percent more of their programs successfully,” he added.
The Chief Executive Officer of iCentra Consulting, Taopheek Babayeju, expressed delight joining the global group of certified PfMP.
Babayeju, who is also the convener of the National Project Management Conference, reiterated his commitment to helping more organisations and individuals to advance their project management maturity to portfolio management level.
