19 States, FCT Push Nigeria’s Covid-19 Cases To Over 46,000

Nigeria’s confirmed infection cases crossed 46,000 on Saturday due to new cases recorded by 19 States and the Federal Capital Territory.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), which confirmed this on its twitter handle, said the country’s confirmed cases rose by 453 to 46,140.
The NCDC gave the breakdown of the new cases as: FCT, 75; Lagos, 71; Benue, 53; Delta, 39 and Borno, 30 cases.
Others are: Enugu, 25; Plateau, 24; Osun, 20; Abia, 19; Oyo, 17; Kaduna, 16; Kano, 13; Ebonyi, 13; Ogun, 9; Kwara, 7; Ondo, 6; Gombe, 3; Ekiti, 2; Akwa Ibom, 1, and Rivers, 1.
The health agency confirmed six deaths on Saturday arising from COVID-19, bringing the total deaths for the country to 942.
Benue accounted for two of the deaths while Lagos, Ondo, Enugu and FCT recorded one death each.
Popular politician from Ogun State, Buruji Kashamu, had on Saturday died in a Lagos hospital due to the pandemic.
