Lagos State recorded 404 new infections on Saturday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has confirmed.
This represents 67.22 per cent of the total 601 new cases reported by the country on Saturday.
The NCDC, in its latest COVID-19 update announced on it twitter handle, said the new infections raised the total coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 51,905.
The breakdown of the new cases of infection shows the Federal Capital Territory recorded 37 new cases while Oyo was 19 cases.
Others are Ondo, 14; Abia, 13; Enugu, 13; Kaduna, 13; Edo, 12; Kano, 12; Kwara. 11; Ebonyi, 10; Nasarawa, 7; Ogun, 6; Osun, 5; Delta, 5; Niger, 5; Plateau, 4; Bayelsa, 4; Katsina, 3; Ekiti, 2 and Imo, 2.
The NCDC’s update also showed that 38,767 patients have recovered from coronavirus and have been discharged from isolation centres, while the total number of deaths recorded as a result of the virus is 997.
