Students lining up by the road sides to wave small handy flags at executives seated in luxury cars with tinted glasses is not uncommon. In fact, such students and pupils are always looking forward to such experience, where they can stand few miles away from the car conveying the executive. It was usually out of magnanimity that some of these leaders take peeps out of the cars to wave hands even with the presence of heavy security.

This act not only made our leaders appear untouchable but also unreachable. Thus, there exist a huge gap between what our leaders are doing and what indeed the followers want and need. In return the sense of followership is appearing to be on the decline. However, for a nation to develop, there has to be a significant synergy between good leadership and followership.

To close this huge gap that is withering the efficiency of our leadership structure, Conrad Clark Nigeria Limited is staging a Leadership-Thought risk summit on 17th of September, 2020 through a virtual platform in conformity with the ongoing social gathering restrictions towards curbing the further spread of Covid19. The 5th edition of the Nigerian Risk Awards and summit, (NRAs 2020) will have the risk leadership summit addressing the leadership and followership with theme: Leadership vs Followership Risk; Uniting a Divided People, and the summit will be chaired by Mrs. Ibukun Awosika (Chairman, First Bank Nigeria Limited/CEO and Founder of The Chair Centre Group) and keynote paper shall be delivered by Prof. Karuti Kanyinga (University of Nairobi). Other speakers are Dr Salihu Lukman, the DG Progressive Governors Forum, and Mr Kola Adesina MD/CEO Sahara Energy Group.

Also, unlike previous editions, this year will feature young generation of leaders as interrogators. These young leaders will have the opportunity to contribute to the conversation as the summit seeks to proffer solutions to socioeconomic impediment of business and economic growth by asking why and what from the younger generation’s perspectives.

Segun Awosanya, Zeal Akaraiwe, Just Omomo Ibe, Ifeoma Melody Ajumobi, Barr Amina Usman, Mustapha Sa’eed and Rt Hon. Mijinyawa are the confirmed interrogators joining the cross-section of leaders that will be speaking.
