NDPHC Completes Over 70 Distribution Projects – MD

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Niger Delta power Holding company Limited (NDPHC), Chiedu Ugbo, has said over 70 distribution projects have been completed by the company since 2015.

The projects include substations, and high and low voltage distribution lines.

According to him, the Company had built a transmission line from Ikot-Ekpene through Enugu, through Makurdi, then overhead Nasarawa state to Jos, and that the Lafia transmission substation is also at 95 per cent completion.

The managing director, in a tweet by the Nigerian government, noted that last year, “we commissioned the Abeokuta two by 60 substation, that can conveniently transmit 100 megawatts; and we also had the expansion of the Ota substation by 60 MVA.”

In the solar space, Ugbo highlighted that 20,000 units of solar home system were deployed to 12 states across the North, with the plan to take it across the country as seen in the Economic Sustainability Plan, were government’s target is to roll out five million units of solar homes system to provide rural unserved communities with electricity.
