The doctors on Thursday also said the current discussions with the government on how to resolve the issues will continue on Friday by 8 a.m.

The NARD president, Aliyu Sokomba, confirmed the suspension of the strike.

He said the doctors decided to embark on strike due to the failure of the government to meet their requests made in June.

Recall that NARD had resolved to commerce an indefinite strike with effect from Monday, September 7, 2020.

The organisation demanded payment of the medical residency training funding to all its members as approved in the revised 2020 budget and payment of the outstanding April/May and June COVID-19 inducement allowances to all health workers, among others.
