The report was submitted on Thursday by the Chairman of the Panel, Prof Tukur Sa’ad to the Minister of Education, Prof. Adamu Adamu.

The minister, who received the report on behalf of President Muhammadu Buhari, said the president would take an appropriate decision in restoring peace to the university.

Adamu said, “The visitor of the university, after due consideration of the report, will take a decision on the matter as appropriate in order to restore peace and conducive learning atmosphere in the university of Lagos and the university system as a whole.”

The Wale Babalakin-led Governing Council had removed the former vice chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe from office over allegations of financial infractions and others.

President Buhari had on Friday, August 21, set up a visitation panel to investigate the crisis at the University of Lagos.

The institution has been bedevilled by corruption claims and counter-claims between the Pro Chancellor/Chairman, Governing Council of the university, Wale Babalakin and the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe

The government asked the two major players in the ongoing crisis to recuse themselves from performing their official duties while the probe lasts.
