The Nigeria Police Force on Friday began crack down on EndSARS protesters in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The protesters had converged at the entrance of the National Assembly to protest human rights abuses and brutality.
The protesters had inscribed EndSARS at the entrance gate of the National Assembly when approached by operatives of the NPF to disperse.
The protesters stood their ground leading to the firing of gunshots by the armed policemen to disperse them.
In the resulting melee after gunshots where fired, four of the protesters were arrested by the security operatives.
The crack down on the EndSARS protesters is coming barely 24 hours after President Muhammadu Buhari sounded a note of warning during his meeting with a delegation of National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria led by the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III.
President Buhari had told the royal fathers that included Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, that the government would not allow anybody or group to threaten the peace or sabotage its efforts at reforming the Police.

He had also expressed the determination of the Federal Government to reform the men and officers of the Nigeria Police Force.
The president declared that strong and transparent efforts were underway to address the rogue elements of the Nigerian Police Force.
“Strong, transparent efforts are underway to address those rogue elements of the Nigerian Police Force.
“Simultaneously, the Nigerian Police Force will also undergo much needed reform that covers welfare, working conditions, and code of conduct. That will usher in a more professional workforce,” the president said.
