A Magistrate Court in Lagos has granted bail to a campaigner and promoter of the EndSARS Movement, Eromosele Adene.

Eromosele, has been in detention with the Police in Lagos and Abuja for 10 days, was granted bail on Tuesday in the sum of N1 million.

The Yaba Magistrate Court rejected a request by the police for an order to detain the EndSARS promoter for another 30 days, to conclude investigations into the allegations against the defendant.

Counsel to the defendant, Mr Adeshina Ogunlana, argued that the facts were not strong enough to support further remand of the defendant.

The magistrate said it was important that Eromosele’s fundamental rights was not infringed upon in the interest of justice.

A protest erupted outside the magistrate court immediately after the bail was granted forcing the heavy police presence at the court to leave the premises.

Eromosele was arrested at his Ikeja home by security operatives from Area “F” Command, Ikeja on November 8.

He was ferried to the Police’s Federal Criminal Investigation Division (FCID) in Abuja and brought back to Lagos on Monday, November 16.
