Dogecoin, which even in the realms of cryptocurrency is known for its volatility, surged 44% after a tweet from Tesla TSLA, -2.07% CEO Elon Musk, whose self-proclaimed break from Twitter TWTR, +1.07% lasted two days. Musk tweeted “doge” without further comment, which was similar to his comment in December that also had a big price impact. Dogecoin has surged 659% this year, according to CoinDesk data.
