NSE Market Captilization Drops Further, sheds N15.187bn

The Nigerian equities Wednesday dipped further as the All Share Index fell by 0.07 per cent.
The ASI shed 29.03 index point to close at 40,465.32 basis point from its opening at 40,494.35 basis point.
Remarkably, the market capitalisation which opened at N21.184 trillion, closed at N21.169 trillion. In effect, the NSE depreciated by N15.187 billion or 0.07 per cent.
The fall of the market was impacted by the loss recorded by Japaul Gold, Vitafoam Nigeria Plc, Beta Glass Plc, Fidson Nigeria and Chi Plc.
The market turnover decreased by 31.5 per cent, as investors bought and sold 244. 202 million shares worth N2. 653 billion in 4,083 deals, as against 356.430 million shares worth N5.762 billion in 5,040 deals traded the previous session.
The market breadth was negative with 21 losers and 17 gainers.
The losers’ table was led in percentage terms by Beta Glass Plc, losing 9.75 per cent to close at N50 per share.
Also, Japaul Gold and Fidson Nigeria fell by 8.86 and 8.55 per cent to close at 72 Kobo and N5. 35 per share respectively.
Chi Plc declined by 7.89 per cent to close at 35 Kobo per share, while Vitafoam Plc depreciated by 7.56 per cent to close at N67. 95 per share.
On the other hand, Julius Berger dominated the gainers’ chart, surging by 9.73 per cent to close at N20. 3 per share.
Living Trust Mortgage Bank and Honey Flour closely followed, rising by 9.68 and 9.60 per cent to close at 68 Kobo and N1. 37 per share respectively
Cornerstone Insurance gained 9.26 per cent to close at 59 Kobo per share, while UPDC Real Estate rose by 7.41 per cent to close at N5. 8 per share.
FBN Holdings was the most active stock at 52. 314 million shares worth N381.498 million, while Guaranty Trust Bank was the most valuable stock at N512,526,034.55.
