Nation Building: A Little Leaven Leavens The Whole Lump
To grab power, they deploy all kinds of means. To them, the end justifies the means. Tell me any political party that had won the election in Nigeria without buying votes. Is it the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) or All Progressives Congress (APC) or Labour Party or APGA?
The most successful parties in Nigeria, make use of thugs, electoral violence in addition to fraud and bribery. The former President, late Umaru Yar’ Adua was honest enough to reveal that the election that brought him to power in 2007 was flawed.
The truth is that party system is innately corrupt, pathologically perverted and morally degenerate.
The stem and root of corruption in Nigeria corrupt all. Which sector of the nation’s economy or life is free of corruption now? Where would one turn to in Nigeria today and not be hit by the stench of sharp practices and decadence?
Even the Judiciary is disoriented, bastardized and made to contradict itself by the potency of the pollution emitted seamlessly by political party democracy.
We have heard in the same country that Judges and men of the Bench do jostle and scramble for appointments into Electoral Tribunals to adjudicate on disputes arising from electoral malpractices and election results. In Nigeria, some had become State Governor’s simply because Judges pronounced them so. A search conducted on the houses of some men of the Bench had revealed Judges having assets including cash in huge sums beyond the worth of their legitimate income.
Many frivolous, suspicious, unreasonable and highly compromising verdicts are dished out daily by many Judges in Nigerian courts. The highest court in the land – the Supreme Court is also involved.
As of today, contradictory verdicts made on the same subject matter by different Justices of the Supreme Court are documented in our Law Reports. Judgments are pronounced to protect criminals most especially those who committed financial crimes.
From all indications, political party system is putrid and evil. It defecates upon the garment of ethics and morality.
The temple of Justice is profaned by political parties and their patrons. An honourable man is extricated of his honour and penchant for uprightness as he goes deep into the political party system and structure.
In Nigeria, party henchmen are nocturnal beings. Their meetings are held in the dead of the night. The journey to their caucus meetings is out of the ordinary with all manner of weapons in their vehicles. Parties’ henchmen deceive one another randomly, they don’t trust themselves.
It’s simply self-delusion to see or know all these things and still expect that a political party in Nigeria would produce a good government. Party leaders are soiled souls driven largely by selfishness having little or no concern for the common people.
Now is the time to sanitise the system and rescue Nigeria from multiple evils ravaging her & the citizens.
LIBERTOCRACY, a new invention in the practice of democracy, replaces political party system with the professions in the country. It’s highly suitable and befitting for Nigeria and all.
It tackles Corruption from the roots & dethrones poor governance all around. It eliminates godfatherism and moneybags’ influence in picking representatives.
The cost of Electoral candidacy is greatly reduced. Professionalism, expertise & experience are brought to bear on representation and governance.
