Adebayo Emerges SDP Presidential Candidate
Prince Adewole Adebayo has been elected as the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Presidential candidate for 2023, receiving 1,526 votes to Khadija Lamidi’s 83 votes.
The SDP’s National Convention result was announced on Wednesday in Abuja by the Convention Returning Officer, Umar Ardo, who stated that the total number of votes cast was 1,653, with 1,609 valid votes and 44 invalid votes.
Adebayo stated in his acceptance speech that with his election, it was the turn of the Nigerian masses to take power in 2023.
In the 2023 general elections, he promised that the SDP would give both the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) a “good fight.”
Adebayo said, “We will campaign to every household, every polling unit, every ward, every local government, every state, every zone and the entire country.
“We will come out and show to Nigerians that food, water, electricity, housing, education and medical care aren’t prayer points.”
