The Federal High Court sitting in Yobe, Damaturu has upheld Bashir Machina as the substantive Yobe North senatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress.
The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to publish his name as the winner of the senatorial poll in the state.
Justice Fadima Murtala Aminu who handed down the verdict also ordered the APC to forward the name of Machina to INEC as the authentic winner of the primary, which was held on the 28/05/2022.
The judge described as “phantom” the primary election where current
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan emerged as the candidate.
