Buhari To Confer National Honour On Manufacturing Magnate Folashade Okoya

Africa’s number one manufacturing magnate and style icon, Chief (Mrs) Folashade Noimot Okoya has added another feather to her cap. She is among the 437 nominees of the 2022 national honours awards conferred by the Federal Government of Nigeria. The formidable businesswoman is a recipient of the Member of the Order of the Niger, MON award.

The awards will be presented by President Muhammadu Buhari on October 11, 2022 at the State House in Abuja.

Okoya is the deputy managing director of Eleganza Industrial City Limited, and wife of Aare Rasaq Akanni Okoya, the Aare of Lagos and chairman/CEO of Eleganza Group of Companies.

Other prominent women on the list sighted by reporters are; the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Amina J. Mohammed, the Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations and multiple award-winning writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

While Okonjo-Iweala and Amina Mohammed would be honoured with GCON, Chimamanda would be conferred with OFR.

Others are Justice Fati Abubakar (CON), Hajia Zainab Shamsina Ahmed (CON), Adaora Umeoji (OON), Kofo Akinkugbe (OON), Funke Opeke (MON), Folasade Yemi-Esan (CFR), Justice Monica Bola’ an Dongban-Mensem (CFR), Hon.
