Final Year Student Delivers Quintuplet In Abia As ASUU Strike Persists
Few days to mark the eighth month of the industrial action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Oluomach Nwojo, a final year Forestry student at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture (MOUAU), Abia state has delivered a quintuplet.
The quintuplet, comprising three girls and two boys were delivered 9.15 pm on Monday October 3.
ASUU’s strike will be eighth month old by October 14, leaving Oluomachi who apprently, was a month-old pregnant when the strike commenced in February 14 as the major benefuciary of the industrial action which has allowed her to carry the pregnancy without the added stress of academic work.

Oluomachi aged 24 who reportedly was delivered of the five babies at the Federal Medical Centre Umuahia is too weak to talk owing to the stress of the labour at childbirth.
An elated Oluomachi’s mother, Priscilla Nwojo was over-joyed by the gift of quintuplets to her daughter, saying such uncommon blessing usually comes with its peculiar challenges.
She however appealed to Government and concerned individuals to come to support the family.
“It’s not easy to take care of one (baby), how much more five persons under the present situation of Nigeria”.
The 56-year- old grandmother, a petty trader from Amamba in Abiriba kingdom of Ohafia Local Government Area, has therefore released her contact 08035746487, seeking help people
” I thank God for this special gift. I’m a trader. I deal on pap and my husband is a tailor. We will be happy if Government can come to our help because it’s not easy to take care of one (baby), not to talk of five. But we thank God in everything”.
Reports says that during a visit to the Nkasiobi Ward of the FMC Umuahia where the mother of the quintuplets and the three girls were being catered for, the two boys were said to be receiving special attention at the ‘In-born unit’ of the hospital.
The babies were observed in their bed but their mother was still too weak to respond to inquiries from our Correspondent.
