“We Want You To Stay”, The Emirates Tell Departing Granit Xhaka

The Arsenal faithful in attendance at the club’s meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers this evening made use of the opportunity to send a crystal clear message to Granit Xhaka.

This, of course, comes as Xhaka prepares to bring a close to his seven-year Gunners stint.

Ahead of the expiration of his contract in north London next month, the Swiss international, in turn, was afforded his latest starting berth, in Arsenal’s Premier League closer against Wolves.

And, safe to say, Xhaka went on to enjoy an evening to remember.

En route to an eventual 5-0 triumph, the Bayer Leverkusen-bound midfielder found the net twice, taking his tally for the campaign to a none-too-shabby nine goals.

And such efforts, evidently, left their mark on those in attendance at The Emirates.

This came as the Gunners faithful sent an unwavering message to their departing midfield star, urging Xhaka to stay put:

The writing, though, in truth, has long been on the wall.

Xhaka’s time as a member of Mikel Arteta’s squad will soon come to an end, as the powers that be at Arsenal prepare for a summer midfield revolution.

As the 30-year-old made his way off the pitch for the final time in Gunners colours, the home crowd inside The Emirates were therefore sure to provide a player to have turned collective opinion firmly in his favour over the course of the season with a fitting farewell:
