Raymond Dokpesi, AIT Founder Dies At 71

The founder of DAAR Communications, Raymond Dokpesi has died at the age of 71.
A family member said the media mogul died at a hospital in Abuja.
Dokpesi, whom a family source said, had suffered a stroke shortly after the recent Ramadan fast, was said to have died of electrocution while using gym equipment, leading to his eventual death
The family source said that Dokpesi had been managing his health through occupational therapy to improve his daily activities by walking out at the gym before today’s sad incident.
The Dokpesi family is expected to issue a statement announcing his death soon.
In 2020, Raymond Dokpesi and members of his family were hospitalized at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital after they were diagnosed with COVID-19. They, however, survived the disease.
Dokpesi founded DAAR Communications, the owners of African Independent Television (AIT) and Raypower FM. He was the deputy Director-General of technical and systems of Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign Council.
