Dangote Says Subsidiaries Paid N474bn Tax To FG In 3yrs
Hashem Ahmed, Manager Administration, Dangote Cement said Dangote subsidiaries have paid a total sum of N474 billion tax to the federal government in three years.
Dangote Group is a conglomerate and the subsidiaries include Dangote Sugar, Dangote Cement and Dangote Salt.
Ahmed who represented Dangote Industries Limited, spoke at the opening ceremony of the 18th Abuja International Trade Fair on Thursday.
He said ” As you may be aware that apart from being the highest employer of labour in the private sector, the Dangote Group is also the Biggest tax payer.
” In just three years, Dangote subsidiaries paid a staggering N474 billion to the Federal government. These are Dangote Sugar, Dangote Cement and Dangote Salt, combined.
Ahmed said the tax payment by the Dangote Group is in additional to several employment and skills acquisition programmes, corporate social responsibility programmes, sponsorship and philanthropic schemes.
” We’re pleased that the new government under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu is pursuing a tax reform policy that we are optimistic will help expand tax net and provide the necessary Financing for the Development of the country’s infrastructures, which will serve the bedrock for the much touted Industrial takeoff in Nigeria.
He stressed that Dangote Group is fully onground to partner and ensure effective running of the trade Fair.
