Trade Minister Tours Manufacturing Firms To Strengthen Ties Between Public, Private Businesses

The Minister of Trade, Industry and Investments, Doris Uzoka-Anite has begun a four day tour of manufacturing industries in the country for first hand knowledge of the sector’s challenges and to improve ties between the public sector and private businesses.

Uzoka-Anite began the four-day tour today and will visit industries in Lagos, Ogun and Kano states.

The Minister will also visit governors of identified states to strengthen the relationship between the federal and state governments.

“We shall be visiting several leading manufacturing companies and plants, including Dangote Sugar Refinery Plc, Nigerian Bottling Company, Niger Biscuits Co. Ltd, and Beloxxi Industries Ltd, among others,” she said.

She said, ” The aim is to draw attention to the amazing work being done in our manufacturing sector and the ways in which it affects our daily lives and the economy. It is also to show the government’s steadfast backing for key sectors of the economy and our dedication to ongoing cooperation for expansion and advancement.

She noted that the visit is to also highlight the commitment of the employees and manufacturing workers that form the core of these businesses, creating superior made-in-Nigeria products that can confidently compete with foreign goods on the international market.

“This is a significant step towards recognizing the hard work and achievements of our manufacturing sector. It’s also a call to action for further innovation, quality improvement, and competitiveness in the global market.

“The tour is more than just a collection of stops; it serves as a link between the aspirations of the government and the realities of the manufacturing industry. It is a recognition of the industry’s contribution to innovation.”
