The Supreme Court is set to deliver Judgement in Rivers, Taraba, and Sokoto Governorship Election Appeals today.

For the Rivers Governorship Appeal, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Tonye Cole, is challenging the victory of Governor Siminalayi Fubara, on the ground that he did not resign as the accountant general of rivers state before the election.

Cole also cited alleged irregularities, non compliance with the electoral act, corrupt practices among others.

He is also seeking the reversal of the judgements of the Court of Appeal and the Tribunal, which upheld the declaration of Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party as the winner of the Rivers Governorship Election.

The five member panel of justices have arrived and the first appeal to be called is that of Rivers State.

The panel is led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, who is absent in the court today.

Rivers judgement is being read by Justice Mohammad Saulawa.
