The Industrial Training Fund (ITF), on Wednesday in Jos organised a special seminar for its workers on effective service delivery devoid of any corrupt tendency.

The seminar, according to ITF Director-General, Mr Joseph Ari, was targeted at promoting quality service delivery and attitudinal reorientation toward repositioning the organization as a key driver of economic growth.

Ari said that the nation was in dire need of improved service delivery values to accelerate its development, and urged the workers to build a culture of efficiency that would put the nation’s interest above every other consideration.

He urged ITF workers to play a prominent role in the efforts to rid Nigeria of corruption, and regretted that the menace had constituted a major stumbling block to rapid growth.

Ari said that ITF workers were being trained and retrained in best global practises to meet global demands, and advised them to strive toward meeting the mandate of promoting skills acquisition and entrepreneurship.

In a paper presented at the seminar, Mr Ayobami Adepoju, Head, Legal Unit of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), North-Central Zonal Office, said that the seminar would improve workers’ ethical conducts and integrity.

Another objective, he said, was to advocate human resources support and good internal management that would encourage integrity, work ethics and professional standards.

Earlier in his remarks, Mr Suleiman Ningi, Head, Servicom and Anti corruption Unit in ITF, had expressed worry over the laxity to work of some ITF staff, saying that the trend was inhibiting effective service delivery.
