NEPAD Seeks Cooperation Of BRICS On Infrastructure, Agriculture

New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD), on Friday, sought the cooperation of BRICS on infrastructure, agriculture, and other fields, Macky Sall, chair of NEPAD said.

“We would like to engage on BRICS as well as Turkey, as well as the whole African countries.

“These BRICS countries are benefiting the countries in Africa. We would like to develop our human resources that will enable us to work as BRICS and Africa and have economic exchanges that will enhance global governance.

“We need practical collaboration in the infrastructure sector, agriculture, energy, as well as then formation of human resources, finance and investments,” Sall, who is president of Senegal said at the outreach dialogue session of the BRICS Summit.

He added that South Africa needs to be the coordinator for African countries as a member of BRICS.

“Africa is looking for a partnership that will be equal, of mutual benefit. We would like to have a mutually beneficial partnership.

“We would like to engage with the multilateral organization in the international forum,” Sall said.

The 10th annual BRICS summit in the South African city of Johannesburg, is taking place
under the theme “BRICS in Africa: Collaboration for Inclusive Growth and Shared Prosperity in the Fourth Industrial Revolution,” chosen to promote global partnerships and inclusivity, ends on Friday.
