Meristem Securities Limited at the annual Nigerian stock exchange (NSE)’s data workshop for 2018 on Friday won the Nigerian Stock Exchange’s ‘Bull awards’.

The maiden award by the NSE was given to the stockbroking firm in appreciation for its efforts so far at deepening the nation’s capital market.

The Mr Oscar Onyema, the Chief executive officer of the Nigerian stock exchange (NSE) while presenting the award hinted that Meristem securities was the first stock broking firm in Nigeria to have an online stock trading platform.

Receiving the award for the securities outfit, Mr Saheed Bashir, its Group Head, Business Development, expressed the firms happiness to bag the award of ‘the digital broker of the year’.

“We are delighted to be crowned as the ‘Digital broker of the year’, at the maiden edition of the Nigerian Stock Exchange Bull Award, holding during this 2018 market data workshop event tagged “Digitalization, Disruption and Financial inclusion”, he remarked. 

Mr Saheed in a chat with InsideBusiness stated that it was a good omen for the securities outfit to bag the award among the hundreds of stockbroking firms in the country. He hinted that it was a pointer to the appreciation of quality services which the firm has been delivering to its customers.

He further hinted that the award will spur them to disrupt the norms and craft out new and better ways of giving true value to its current customers and expand its drag-nets to pull in more customers to come enjoy the quality service which it offers
