Buhari Takes Lagos, Beats Atiku.

President Mohammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress party (APC) has  clinched victory in Lagos, beating Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)

 

The result shows that APC won in 15 local government areas, while PDP won just in five local government areas.

 

In Apapa Local Government Area, APC scored 18, 170, while PDP scored 11,295 votes. In Ikorodu LG, APC polled 40,719 votes, while PDP polled 21,252 votes. In Ibeju/Lekki LG, APC polled 12, 179 votes, while PDP polled 9222 votes.

 

In Lagos Island LG, APC polled 27, 452 votes while PDP polled 7396 vote. In Epe LG, APC polled 17,710 votes, while PDP polled 13, 306 votes. In Ikeja LG, APC scored 23, 638, while PDP polled 21,518 votes.

 

In Badagry LG, APC polled 21,417 votes as PDP polled 17, 936 votes. In Agege LG APC polled 36, 443 votes, beating PDP to 16, 497 votes.

 

But in Eti Osa LG, things took a new dimension as PDP polled 25, 216 votes, defeating APC which polled 20, 962 vote. Whereas, in Ifako Ijaye LG, APC obtained 33, 419 votes, as against PDP which polled 18, 100 votes.

In Mushin LG, APC polled 43, 543 votes as against PDP which polled 20, 277 votes. In Oshodi/ Isolo LG, APC recorded 29, 860 votes, while APC scored 28, 806 votes. In Lagos Mainland APC polled 22, 684 votes, while PDP polled 15, 137 votes.

 

In Ojo LG, PDP beat APC, polling 29, 019 votes, while APC scored 24, 333 votes. In Surulere, PDP floored APC, scoring 31,603 votes while the latter polled 30, 621votes. In Somolu, APC polled 28, 418 votes while PDP polled 21, 978 votes.

 

In Kosofe LG, APC polled 39, 216 votes, while PDP polled 28 715 votes. In Alimoso LG, APC polled 65, 206 votes, while PDP polled 44, 461 votes.

 

In Ajeromi LG, PDP beat APC to obtain 31, 971 votes, while APC scored 28, 152 votes. In Amuwo/Odofin PDP polled 34, 312 votes, while APC scored 16, 670 votes

 

However, a large number of votes were cancelled due to over voting, card readers’ malfunctioning at various polling units, violence, ballot box snatching, absconding of electoral officers, discrepancies in result, manual accreditation among others.
