Akinlade Woos Adebutu With Political Positions, Sign MOU On Alliance

In a move to weaken both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for tomorrow March 9 gubernatorial and legislators elections, Adekunle Akinlade, the governorship candidate of Allied People’s Movement (APM) and Ladi Adebutu, the leaders of Adebutu’s group in Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on an alliance to curry votes for the former in Ogun State.

In the MOU dated March 7, 2019 and signed by Akinlade and Adebutu, both have agreed to work together to ensure the victory for Akinlade in tomorrow’s election. The parties agreed that Adebutu’s group would mobilize full machinery to support the election victory of Akinlade.

In the MOU, Akinlade, Governor Ibikunle Amosun agreed to cede some positions to Adebutu’s group and that immediate attention would be given some infrastructural projects in the state.

The ceded positions are: two commissioners, three senior special assistants, two special advisers, five special assistance, chairman SUBEB or Local Government Service Commission and Director General Lands or Chairman OPIC.

The infrastructural facilities to be attended to according to the MOU are: 100km of community roads per Federal Constituency per annum; Ilisan-Ago Iwoye road;  Iperu/Ilisan cargo airport (reactivation), OKFTZ;  five mini-water works including reactivations per Federal Constituency; Sagamu-Ogijo-Ikorodu dualization; Oba Erinwole by-pass Sagamu.

The federal appointments allocated to the group are: executive directors or directors in all MINT, FHA, FERMA, BOI, Federal Mortgage Bank, Ogun-Osun River Basin, NERFUND, PTDF, secretary of transportation-FCT, Nigerian Agricultural Bank among others.

According to the MOU, the agreement is valid for a period of three years effective from the date signed by all parties.
