‎One of the most wanted former aides of ex-President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Dr. Waripamowei Dudafa, has been arrested by officials of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital.

Dudafa, who served as a Special Assistant on Domestic Matters to Jonathan, was arrested at the Murtala Muhammed Airport while trying to board an international flight.

Dudafa was immediately handed over by the DSS officials to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which flew him to Abuja.

The EFCC had declared him wanted over his role in the disbursement of billions of naira he allegedly collected from embattled former National Security Adviser (NSA), retired Colonel Sambo Dasuki. Dudafa had been on the run until he was nabbed.

The EFCC has charged Dasuki over misappropriation and fraud.

The EFCC had previously arrested, questioned and released Colonel Ojogbane Adegbe, a former ADC to the former President over his role in the disbursement of the funds.

It was gathered that Ojogbane reportedly told investigators that he gave Dudafa the funds after receiving same from Dasuki.

Security sources at the airport confirmed Dudafa’s arrest, adding that he is presently in the custody of the EFCC.

EFCC spokesman, Mr. Wilson Uwajaren did not respond to calls when we called him for more information on the development.‎
