Allianz Nigeria Plans Insurance For German Community in Nigeria
In a way that suggests a captive market, Allianz Nigeria, the local operating entity of global insurance giant, Allianz Group, will provide insurance services to German nationals and businesses in Nigeria.
This arrangement was sealed at a meeting recently between the German Ambassador to Nigeria, Bernhard Schlagheck, and the management of Allianz Nigeria during which details of the partnership were discussed in a business partnership that will move the entire active German businesses in Nigeria comprising a large number of small and medium sized companies into the purview of the insurance firm.
At a meeting described as productive meeting, the two parties finalised on the strategic insurance support plans for German diaspora in Nigeria with attendant consequences on the Nigerian economy.
Speaking at the meeting, Executive Officer, Allianz Nigeria, Owolabi Salami, remarked that whereas Germany and Nigeria have excellent bi-lateral relations, there is ample opportunity to intensify and deepen the relations between both countries.
“Germany and Nigeria are the largest national economies in their respective continents. Interestingly enough, Allianz, our parent company is native to Germany. By default then, securing the needs of German businesses and individuals in Nigeria is our serious responsibility”, he enthused.
The Allianz Group is one of the world’s leading insurers and asset managers with more than 92 million retail and corporate customers.
