As a way of appreciating its customers for their patronage, Fidelity Bank on Monday awarded N3.45 million to Nine customers, thanking them for their support over the years. The event which was held at the Dei-dei market in Abuja was attended by the bank staff, the award beneficiaries and business owners at the market. The beneficiaries which include Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, among others are in two categories-the Fidelity savings account which had six beneficiaries and the school fees support account which had three beneficiaries.
The Fidelity savings account beneficiaries got N500,000 each while the school fees account got N150,000 each. Mrs Ugonnaya Okoro, Consumer Finance, Fidelity bank representing Divisional head of retail bank, Richard Maduebu said the award which has held for four years is just to show gratitude to the Fidelity bank customers for their patronage Okoro said “It’s gone for more than four years, totally we’ve done more than N2.6bn across Nigeria. We have rewarded over 6,000 customers.
“It’s just to reward our customers. You know we say the customer is a king, they are the reason why we are still in business without the customer we can’t all still be in business today. “So we just want to show them appreciation and that we are grateful for having them on our platform. “For the northern region we are rewarding about 190 customers, I think about 130 for the Fidelity savings account and then about 60 for the children’s account which we call the school fees support. Total in cash, all of them is about N74m that what we have rewarded. “For Dei-dei market, we have about nine beneficiaries we have about three children’s account for N150,000 each and the rest six are N500,000 each.” When asked what how winners are selected, Okoro said it is done across the Fidelity bank’s regional offices by throwing into a pull and select numbers.
She reiterate that the bank as long as the bank stands all customers would be awarded. “We just throw into the pull, select numbers across all our regional banks, we just select numbers but the truth is that every body will be rewarded but we can’t reward every body in a month. “So every month we just take a pull from across all the regional bank and we move from place to place to to go and reward them so it’s going to be continues program as long as fidelity is standing,” she added. One of the beneficiaries, Mohammed Aliyu, representing the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities said Fidelity bank has fulfilled its promise. He said “For a promise made and fulfilled, we are happy about it. They said it and they did it. That gives us sense of belonging.”
