State of the Nation: LCCI, Stakeholders to Brainstorm Way Forward

The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI)
and stakeholders of the business community have announced plans to hold the 2019 edition of the Presidential Policy Dialogue to deliberate on the state of the nation, public policy initiatives of government and the implications on the economy.
The Presidential Dialogue expected to hold tomorrow in Lagos is expected to bring together key government officials and major players in the organised private sector spanning across various sectors of the economy.
According to the Director General, LCCI, Muda Yusuf, the dialogue session would also explore collaboration possibilities and possible synergy between the Private Sector and the government.
“The Forum will bring together captains of Industry, leaders of the private sector, as well as members of the diplomatic corps to deliberate on issues bothering on the economy, as they relate to the mandate of the present administration to take it to the next level,” he said.
At a time like this, the economy needs such a team to pull the economy back from the brink,” he added.
He advised that the management of the Nigerian Economy needs to be anchored on tested economic principles that will propel sustainable growth and development.
He noted that the economy craves a critical mass of private sector investment to stem the current slide and declines in the economy.
“We need to boost the confidence of investors for such private capital flows to happen. The economy desires policies that are coherent, consistent, coordinated, synchronised and transparent. The economy should be managed in a such a way to harness the bountiful entrepreneurial energies and resourcefulness of the Nigerian people,” he averred.
