The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) ended Friday’s trading session in positive territory, as the NSE All-Share Index closed at 27,698.69 basis points, up 1.19%.
The All-Shsre index gained 52.54 basis points or 0.19 per cent to close at 27,698.69 points as against 27,646.15 points recorded the previous trading session.
Similarly, the market capitalisation appreciated by N25 billion or 0.19 per cent to close at N13.483 trillion as against N13.458 trillion
Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc was the best-performing stock on Friday when it gained 7.26% to close at N42.85 per share, Dangote Sugar Plc advanced by 4.74% to close at N11.05 per share. Flour Mills of Nigeria appreciated by 2.19% to close at N14 per share, Nigerian Breweries Plc also added 1.06% to close at N52.55 per share while Nestle Nigeria rounded off the top five gainers chart with 0.83% gain to close at N1210.1 per share.
Conversely, Eterna Plc was the worst-performing stock, declining by 8.33% to close at N2.75 per share, Cadbury Nigeria fell by 6.01 per cent to close at N10.95 per share, Zenith Bank Plc dipped 1.58% to close at N18.7 per share. Dangote Flour depreciated by 1.12 per cent to close at N22.15 per share, Guaranty Trust Bank shed 0.85 per cent to close at N29 per share.
Nigerian Breweries Plc was the most actively-traded stock at the close trading on Friday, exchanging 28.1 million shares valued at N1.47 billion, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc was next with 17.6 million shares valued at N512.2 million traded in 162 deals, followed by FBN Holdings Plc with 15.9 million shares worth N89.5 million traded in 288 deals.
United Bank of Africa Plc was next with 15.2 million shares valued at N93.6 million traded in 224 deals. Zenith Bank Plc completed the top five most actively traded stocks Friday with 14.5 million shares worth N275.9 million traded in 314 deals
