PDP NEC Extends Damagum’s Tenure As Acting Chairman
Towing the same line with the National caucus of the party, the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has extended the tenure of Umar Damagum as its acting chairman.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba disclosed this on Thursday in a communique issued after the 98th meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) at the party’s secretariat in Abuja.
Ologunagba therefore urged all members of the party to continue to work in unity for the success of PDP in the interest of Nigerians.
InsideBusinessNG recalls that the National Caucus of the party had earlier on Thursday announced the extension of Damagum’s tenure in acting capacity.
Damagun, who is believed to be an ally of the immediate past Rivers State Governor has been in a cold war with another faction of the party who believes he’s not the right person to occupy such a seat.
Ologunagba also said earlier the decision of the caucus is subject to ratification of the NEC.
The latest development might lay to rest, the recent leadership tussle rocking the party.
