Onung Takes Over As Acting FTAN President

Mr Nkereuwem Onung has taken over as acting President, Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN) after he was sworn in by the Board of Directors, following the death of Alhaji Rabo Saleh, the former president.

The chairman of the board, Chief Samuel Alabi disclosed this on Monday in a statement signed by FTAN Public Relation Officer(North) Mr Joesef Karim in Abuja.

The News Agency of Nigeria(NAN) reports that Onung was the first Deputy President of the FTAN prior to his emergence as the acting president.

He said Onung would serve as the acting president pending the general election of the federation in July.

“Onung is a former banker and a well-known tourism development advocate, investor, and operator in Nigeria and West Africa.

“His investments in the industry span across tour operations, transport fleet management, event promotion and destination management.

“Remlords” as he is fondly called in the industry owns some of the leading travel brands in Nigeria, including Remlords Tours & Logistics, and operates from Calabar, Lagos and Abuja,” Alabi said.

Alabi added that the Governing Council of the FTAN plans to hold a valedictory programme in honour the late FTAN president who died on April 16, in Abuja.
