President-elect Bola Tinubu has returned to the country after a month abroad.

The aircraft which brought the incoming president back to Nigeria touched down at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Monday evening.

Tinubu was welcomed by a crowd of supporters.

He arrived from France alongside his wife, Oluremi Tinubu.

Tinubu had travelled out of the country after the March 18 governorship election.

There were reports that he went abroad to treat an undisclosed ailment but his media team denied this.

While abroad, Tinubu announced a 13-man presidential committee to plan his inauguration on May 29, 2023.

The President-elect appointed a former Senator who represented Borno North and the current National Deputy Chairman (North) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abubakar Kyari, as the Coordinator and Director of Finance and Budget of the presidential inauguration committee.

The Executive Director (Business Development) at the Nigeria Export-Import (NEXIM) Bank, Stella Okotete, was appointed as the Head of Secretariat, Planning, and Monitoring, while a former APC governorship aspirant in Ekiti State, Makinde Araoye, was named as the Director of the venue, parades, and swearing-in for the week-long event.

The spokesperson of the APC Presidential Campaign, Bayo Onanuga, was appointed as Head of Media and Publicity, while the Cross Rivers State Commissioner for Health and current National Women Leader of the APC, Dr Betta Edu, was saddled with the task of coordinating the medical team for the inauguration committee.
