Star Lager beer, the flagship beer brand of Nigerian Breweries Plc, has revealed plans to round up the year in conjunction with the Lagos State Government at its Yuletide revue, One Lagos Fiesta, which is set to hold from 24th December to the early hours of 1st January, 2019.

The event which is billed to attract top Nigerian artists cutting across all genres, including Olamide, Teni, Real, Humblesmith, Ayuba, Osupa among others and over two million direct participants are expected to take part in this year’s event.

Speaking ahead of the event, the Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Steve Ayorinde, disclosed that the event would hold in five locations simultaneously across the state in line with the tradition adopted in the last four years, adding that it was gratifying that the event had become the biggest end-of-year entertainment brand in Africa as it provides an unparalleled platform for residents and visitors, both old and young, to relax and enjoy themselves in a secured environment.

The five venues are in Agege (Agege Stadium), Victoria Island (Bar Beach/Eko Atlantic City), Badagry (Badagry Grammar School), Epe (Epe Marina Waterfront) and Ikorodu (in Ikorodu Town Hall).

The 2018 OLF, as it is fondly called, will also feature support from Star Lager as the beer brand will be on- ground to provide Lagosians non-stop refreshments all through the week-long event.

Speaking on the reason for the sponsorship of the event once again, the Head Media Digital & Sponsorship, Mr Wasiu Abiola, said “Star Lager Beer is consumer-focused, and a listening brand. We know how passionate Nigerians are about festivities and that is why we’re supporting One Lagos Fiesta. We share in this excitement and we will be pulling all the stops to ensure our consumers have a great time all through the eight days.”

Star Lager is Nigeria’s oldest domestically produced beer brand. It was introduced into the Nigerian market on June 2, 1949 as the first indigenously brewed beer in a market that was dominated by imported brands. Star is largely responsible for the growth of the Nigerian indigenous beer industry as its success story has influenced the introduction of other successful brands.
