Nigerian Breweries Appoints Two New Non-Executive Directors.

Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced two new Non-Executive directors to its Board of Directors.

NB In a notification to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) disclosed the two as Mr Oluseyi Bickersteth and Mrs Adeyinka O. Aroyewun as Non-Executive Directors.

According to a statement released by the company, Mr Bickersteth’s appointment is effective 1st January 2019. He is said to be a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), and a former chairman of KPMG Africa Practice as well as a former National Senior Partner of the Nigerian practice. He is currently the Chairman of Andersen Tax Africa and sits on the Board of other companies in Nigeria.

Mr Bickesteth chaired a working group on “Nigerian Tax Reforms 2002 & Beyond” for the Federal Government of Nigeria. He has also served on the working group of Nigeria’s Vision 2020 as well as on the Technical Committee of the Federal Government of Nigeria that prepared the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB).

Mrs Adeyinka Aroyewun who was also appointed to the Board as a Non-Executive Director effective 1st January 2019, is a lawyer and an internationally accredited mediator of the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR), UK and is currently the Director of the Lagos Multi-Door Courthouse. She is an experienced trainer in Alternative Dispute Resolution techniques for members of the Bar, the Bench and general public.

He is a member of the Chartered institute of Arbitrators, UK, the Negotiation and Conflict Management Group and the Nigerian Bar Association, amongst other professional associations and bodies.

Meanwhile the company also announced the resignation of Chief Samuel O. Bolarinde, a Non-Executive Director from the Board effective the 31st of December, 2018 to enable him pursue other personal interests.
