Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)Alhaji Atiku Abubakar’s endorsement by five organizations of Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Pan- Niger-Delta Forum (PANDEF), Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Ohaneze Ndigbo and a faction of Afenifere has heated up the polity as politicians are engaged in brickbat and hot argument over the authenticity of the endorsement.

Speaking, Ismael Ahmed, Special Adviser to President on Social Investment, Office of the Vice President dismissed the backing as mere TV show that will not make any impact. He said the group that made the endorsement are those who are in search of who will cater for them the most, describing them as spent forces who cannot make any meaningful impact during the election.

Ismael said the endorsement will be put to rigorous test when the election is held February when the “chaff will be separated from the wheat” as the electorate make their decision to choose the President that will deliver the dividends of democracy who, according to him, will be President Mohammadu Buhari (PMB). He added that with the superior experience of PMB, Atiku is no match.

In his opinion, Tunde Olusunle, member Media and Publicity Committee PDP Presidential Campaign and former Special Adviser to former President Olusegun Obasanjo differs, describing the endorsement as massive showing the pan-Nigerianism of Atiku, expressing that Atiku is the most experienced presidential candidate among all the aspirants. He described Atiku’s chances as brighter having been received by Nigerians.

Following the endorsement of Alhaji Atiku Abubarkar, Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), politicians have been engaged in hot argument among themselves as the endorsement has heated up the polity.

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Ohaneze Ndigbo and a faction of Afenifere had risen in their summit entitled “The Search for Credible, Free and Fair Elections” held at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Abuja on Sunday endorsing Atiku. Among the eminent Nigerians who graced the occasion were Ango Abdullahi, Edwin Clark, Ayo Adebanjo, John Nwodo and Bitrus Pogu.

Meanwhile, a faction of Afenifere, led by Ayo Fasanmi, endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Afenifere had endorsed Atiku few weeks back.
