The All Progressives Congress (APC) Candidate in the area council elections in the Federal Capital Territory, Hon. Joseph Shazin, has floored the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon Daniel Ibrahim and two the other political parties that participated in last Saturday’s FCT councils Poll.

Hon. Joseph K. Shazin was declared the winner at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) office in Kwali area council by the returning officer, Professor Simon Malangkawe.
The INEC Returning Officer said, “The APC polled 15,309 votes to beat his closest rival, Daniel Ibrahim of the PDP who scored 13,673 votes”.
Prof. Malangkawe further added that the APC having scored the highest number of votes cast as well as fulfilled all the conditions as spelt out by the electoral umpire is hereby pronounced winner.”
The announcement of the result also sparked wide spread celebrations among APC members and supporters who opined that the PDP government in the area has been a waste of human and material resources.
Some APC supporters who sang along some major roads in Kwali reminded the defeated and ousted PDP government in the area about their stolen mandate calling on the chairman-elect to probe the outgoing government.
In an interview with newsmen shortly after his declaration, the Chairman-elect, Honourable Joseph Shazin promised to resuscitate infrastructure decay in his council, thanking his people for the confidence and trust they have reposed on him.
