Zenith Bank, Flour Mills, Others Top Gainers Chart
Three finance companies, today, made the top five activity chart on the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NSE, including Access Bank, AXA Mansard Insurance and UBA Group..
Japaul Gold, an Oil and Gas led the activity chart, when it traded in 28.053 million shares worthN222.723 million, with Acess Bank closely followed with 21.896 million worth of shares atN190.431 million.
AXA Mansard came next with 13. 263 million shares worth N16.398 million, while UBA sold 13.228 million shares worth N113.099 million . Also, Transcorp completed the top five activity chart trading 12.787 million shares N12.134 million.
The All Share Index (ASI) gained 0.17 per cent to close at 40,465.15 basic point, up from the 40,396.14 basic point it posted the previous day.
The market capitalisation leaped by 0.17 per cent or N38bn to close at N21.158 trillion, compared to N21.122 trillion it recorded on Tuesday.
The appreciation of the market was influenced by gains by BOC Gas, Zenith Bank, UBA Group, Flour Mills and Vitafoam Plc.
The market turnover decreased by 86.6 per cent, as investors traded in 249.545 million shares N2.184 billion in 6,090 deals, as against 465.673 million shares worth N5.117 billion in 7,573 deals traded on Tuesday.
The market breadth recorded a positive trajectory with 32 gainers and 15 losers, as against 28 gainers and 29 losers on Tuesday.
The losers’ board was led in percentage parameters by Eternal Plc, depreciating by 8.17 per cent to close at N5.28 per share.
Honey Flour lost 6.25 per cent to close at N1.2 per share, while Neimeth fell by 5.09 per cent to close at N2. 05 per share.
In the same vein, PZ Cussons and African Prudential Insurance declined by 2.83 and 1. 48 per cent to close at N5. 15 and N6. 65 per share respectively.
On the flip side, BOC Gas led the gainers’ table in percentage barometers, surging by 9.52 per cent to close at N11. 5 per share. While Flour Mills gained 3.45 per cent to close at N27 per share.
Likewise, Zenith Bank, Vitafoam Plc and UBA Group leaped by 2.03, 2.86 and 2.83 per cent to close at N25.1, N9 and N8.6 per share respectively.
