Adamu Emerges APC Chairman

As expected, former governor of Nasarawa state, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, late Saturday night emerged as the new national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC.after a voice vote.

Adamu emerged as the consensus candidate of the party after six other aspirants stepped down at the parry’s 2022 national convention.

The party chieftains met prior to the convention where the consensus idea was mooted and firmed up. Ahead of the commencement, six APC chairmanship aspirants withdrew from the race in alignment with the agreement at the meeting prior to the convention.

The convention was attended by the chieftains of the party from all the 36 States including President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

Others at the convention are President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, APC governors, former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, and other party members as well as delegates.
