Senator Abdullahi Adamu, emerged the Chairman of All Progressives Congress via a consensus at the 2022 convention of the party.

Six aspirants stepped down for him in alignment with the decision of a high profile meeting of the top chieftains of the party from the 36 States of the federation.

Adamu in 1977 was elected to the Constituent Assembly.

In 1982, he became the first Secretary-General of the NPN in Plateau State*

In 1983, he was elected as chairman of the NPN in the Plateau,*

In 1994, he was appointed to the National Constitutional Conference by General Sani Abacha’s administration.*

In March 1995, he was appointed a minister of state of the Works and Housing ministry,*

In 1999 he was elected as Governor of Nasarawa state for two times.*

He became a senator of the federal republic of Nigeria in 2007 to date.

Senator Abdullahi Adamu is one of the few politicians in the world who never lost any position he aspired for in any election since he started contesting in 1970s.
