Abuja Violence: British High Commission Offers Condolence To Nigerian Victims

The British high commission has shown concerned and condolence to the families of those who lost their dear ones in the violence act at Abuja, Nigeria during the past week.
This level of violence in and around Abuja, Nigeria has lead to a large number of death and sustained injuries by the people, in which the federal government have open an investigation towards the activities in that region.
According to a statement from the British High Commission, it reads “We are concerned by the deaths of up to 50 people in and around Abuja this week and our thoughts are with the families of those people who have lost their lives.
The commission further encourages all parties to work together to enable the people of Nigeria to exercise freedom of association, expression and religious belief safely, peacefully and in line with the rule of law.
The statement reads that is essential that security forces act in accordance with international and domestic law and work to protect civilians.
However, Nigeria government is committed to conduct a thorough investigation and to take appropriate action to hold accountable any member of the security forces held responsible for violations of Nigerian law.
