NSE: Indices Sustain Negative Trend, Down 0.11%

Trading on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) continued in the red zone on Thursday as the All-Share Index depreciated by 0.11 per cent.
The All-Share Index shed 30.17 basis points or 0.11 per cent to close at 27,052.93 in contrast with the 27,083.11 recorded on Wednesday.
Likewise, the market capitalisation which opened at N13.198 trillion went down by  N15 billion or 0.11 per cent to close at N13.183 trillion.
The bearish outlook of the market was occasioned by losses recorded in medium and large capitalised stocks, amongst which are; Stanbic IBTC, Unilever Nigeria, Dangote Cement, among others.
Leading the losers’ table was Stanbic IBTC with a loss of 380 Kobo to close at N34.30 per share.
Unilever Nigeria followed with a 320 depreciation to close at N28.80 per share, Dangote Cement dropped 300 Kobo to close at N162 per share.
Ecobank Transnational Incorporation shed 70 Kobo to close at N6.30 while Lafarge West Africa declined by 60 Kobo to close at N14 per share.
On the flip side, MTN Nigeria recorded the highest price gain of 575 Kobo to close at N135 per share, topping the gainers’ chart.
Cement Company of Northern Nigeria followed with a gain of 125 to close at N14.50 while Dangote Flour nicked 30 Kobo to close at N20.80 per share.
Union Bank of Nigeria (UBN) appreciated by 20 kobo to close at N7 per share.
Total volume of shares traded declined by 0.82 per cent with an exchange of 233.1 million shares valued at N3.6 3 billion traded in 4,331 deals.
This was in contrast with a turnover of 235.13 million shares worth N3.29 billion achieved in 3,922 deals on Wednesday.
Transactions in the shares of Guaranty Trust Bank led the activity chart with 42.499 million shares valued at N1.09 billion.
Transcorp came second with a turnover of 37.86 million shares worth N33.12 million, while Access Bank traded 22.10 million shares valued at N130.09 million.
Fidelity Bank sold 19.37 million shares worth N28.17 million, while Zenith Bank exchanged 18.32 million shares valued at N298.56 million.
