Jegede who was sure of his victory at the 10 October poll told journalists after voting at his polling unit 5, Ward 2, Gbogi/Isinkan 1 at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church Primary School, Akure South; said the violent incidences in some parts of Owo and Akure will not affect his chances.

“Despite all of these incidents, we will win by the grace of God,” noted Jegede who lauded the electorate for turning out en-mass to vote and also for their peaceful conduct so far during the exercise.
The aspirant who voted together with his wife was delayed owing to the malfunctioning of the card reader which had worked perfectly before their turn.
The problem with the card readers was later resolved by the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission after which Jegede and his wife finally voted.
